VIETNAM PROSPERITY JOINT STOCK COMMERCIAL BANK

Established in 1993, VPBANK is one of Vietnam's oldest financial institutions. Its stock, identified by the symbol VPB, was officially traded on the HOSE on August 17, 2017. On March 26, 2023, the stock was valued at VND 19,600 per share, ranking 11th among 21 listed companies in the same industry. Notably, VPBANK's stock attracted the highest number of foreign buyers.
According to Brand Finance, a renowned brand valuation consultancy, VPBank experienced significant growth in brand value in 2023. It was one of the four organizations that witnessed the highest increase, reaching a valuation of USD 1.3 billion. Over a span of seven years, the bank's brand value surged by 23 times since its initial valuation of USD 56 million by the same organization.
VPBANK SECURITIES JSC (VPBankS) and OPES, two companies operating in the securities and insurance sectors, contributed over VND 1.4 trillion in pre-tax profits after being merged into VPBank for more than a year. However, VPBANK SMBC FINANCE COMPANY LIMITED (FE CREDIT), another subsidiary, incurred a loss of VND 3.5 trillion in 2023. Additionally, FE CREDIT's non-performing loans (NPLs) continued to rise, resulting in a 12.8% increase in VPBANK's consolidated NPLs from VND 25.1 trillion in 2022 to VND 28.3 trillion in 2023. This made it the highest NPLs recorded in the Vietnamese banking system in 2023.
